Many of you may know by now that Awana has decided to
discontinue the MIT program as we know it and "rebrand" the
program as a ministry for College Age students to work
directly with US missionaries. However, God has
laid a wonderful opportunity before us. Our passion remains
to provide US Youth with valuable opportunities to serve the
Lord in domestic and international locations. Coupled with
that, we continue to be burdened with the privilege and
responsibility to serve international Awana missionaries by
continuing to send them highly motivated, highly trained
teams willing to serve alongside them and to enhance their
ministry efforts. With this said, Brian Hughes, the MIT
area specialist for Kyle Herr's area has formed a non-profit
missions organization called Youth Ministries
International. We are very excited to join Brian in this
ministry to continue to serve the Lord in a capacity similar
to what we have done in MIT. If you would like to learn
more about this organization, please go to the website at
www.ymimissions.org.
The Board of Directors for this new ministry include Don and
Cheryl DeVinney, former MIT specialists for the
North East, Rick and Raeanne Valasquez, former MIT
specialists for the North West, and Buddy and Kristi Combs,
former MIT Specialist for the South East. It is our
goal and prayer that we can pick up where MIT left off in
providing quality missionary experiences for youth.

website. We are planning to have our fall
training in Pavilion, NY as before.
